Technical Incompetence & Insecurities

Hello everyone,

First of all, I’d like to apologise that I didn’t post anything yesterday. As you might have noticed, for a couple of past months, I’ve  developed a habit of posting consistently every Monday. Now it makes me somewhat disappointed that I didn’t stick to my schedule.

I filmed a video about my makeup routine for my YouTube channel. Then, I wrote a corresponding post for this blog. And then, everything went to shit. I spent three hours importing the video from my new camera to my PC, and from my PC to my iPhone, because I edit my videos in iMovie. Unfortunately, I don’t have a Mac so I have to do it on my phone. And yes, I’m aware of the decent free movie editors that are compatible with Windows, but I didn’t really have time to look into it and I’m not sure my laptop could handle it anymore because it’s quite ancient at this point. When I finally got the footage to my phone, I noticed that I accidentally filmed the entire thing in the size 4:3 instead of the desired 16:4.

Despite my technical incompetence, This wasn’t the main reason why I decided not to upload it. In fact, I wasn’t going to write this post either. But since it’s the World Mental Health Day I want to post this and, you know, get more personal with you, to be more human and not just a random girl in front of a computer screen.

You see, I’ve been dealing with insecurities all my life. It started with being too skinny and my undereye circles when I was about ten. I still have the bags under my eyes because I just can’t sleep like a normal individual. I either can’t sleep at all or wake up a billion times during the night. Then, when I was about seventeen, I felt too plump, even though I wasn’t. My childish body just underwent a transition to a woman’s body. And well, I haven’t really reconciled with the fact that I have hips. I’m not implying that I have had an eating disorder because I’ve never been diagnosed with one, even though I don’t have a healthy relationship with food. But I’m dealing with some health issues that tend to be the result of undernourishment. My food diaries are my attempt to, you know, gain the normal relationship with food, and not see it as an enemy.

Long story short, when I saw my face in the video, I was horrified. My face looked completely different. I mean, in the past year I finally started to learn to accept my body, including my face. And to be honest, I pretty much like my face. Well, except the eyebags. But when I saw myself on the screen, my face looked shockingly asymmetrical. I never noticed that one of my eyes is larger than the other and that one of my cheeks is somewhat slimmer than the other. When I smile, my upper lip just disappears. And the eyebags were even worse than in real life. I’m awfully critical to myself and I guess I just let it consume myself because it made me pretty anxious for the rest of the day.

I don’t really know what’s the point of this blog post. I just want to put it out there. I will try and film the video again, this time from a better angle and perhaps attempt to accept that this is what my face looks like. After all, we all have insecurities.

Well, I guess that’s it for today’s post and I’m looking forward to seeing you next week.

What I Eat in a Day #2

Hello everyone,

I realised that I haven’t done a What I Eat in a Day post in quite some time and so here you are! Today’s food diary is from a day when I’m not staying at home all day and therefore I don’t really have much time to spend cooking.

Breakfast

IMG_4807
Okay, I know I just said I didn’t have enough time to cook, but I love having some eggs for breakfast. And by the way, this takes maximum ten minutes so it won’t take too much time from your morning. As you can probably tell, I broke my fast with scrambled eggs that morning. Well, that’s probably the only preparation I’m sure of when it comes to eggs. I was frying them with some tomato. You see, I pretty much resent any kind of cooked vegetables except tomatoes. I could eat cooked or fried tomatoes all day long. When the eggs and the tomato were fried enough, I added some feta cheese, then I cut some cucumber and finished everything with a spoonful of hummus, because yes, I serve hummus with everything. And yeah, before I move on to my lunch, I couldn’t skip my morning green tea with my breakfast. I had my favourite one, which is the jasmine infusion from M&S.

Lunch

IMG_4810
For lunch, I picked my favourite take away salad from Whole Foods, which is pretty much my go-to place to eat on the go. The salad is full of leafy greens, such as spinach. Sorry, I don’t know the others, but anyway, there are pecan nuts in it, dried cranberries and my latest obsession, goats cheese. Oh, my god, you guys, I never thought I would like goats cheese. I’m quite a picky eater, there are loads of foods out there that I just won’t eat and I supposed that goats cheese would be one of them because I heard mixed opinions about the taste of it and therefore, I didn’t dare to try it myself. But then one day, I bought this particular salad with goats cheese, and I just can’t get enough of it.

IMG_4811
Well, and then, of course, I had to sneak in something sweet because the dried cranberries just were not enough, so I decided to buy this Nakd bar. Usually, I would go for the Cocoa Orange, because it’s simply my favourite but since this Lemon Drizzle one has been made, I always buy this particular one. Shame it’s only a limited edition.

Dinner

IMG_4813
As I said, I didn’t have much time to cook anything. Let’s be honest, most of the time I can’t be bothered to cook anything anyway, so I had just some toasts for dinner. I spread some avocado on them and added mozzarella cheese. Simple but tasty. I know a lot of people prefer to have a nice warm dinner but I’m pretty happy a cold one. Who has time to cook, right?

Okay, so that’s everything for today. I hope you enjoyed this peek into my diet and I’m looking forward to seeing you next week! Don’t forget to check my YouTube channel as well.

Lookbook September 2017

Hello everyone,

This is the last September blog post, which means I will do a September lookbook. Well, to be completely honest with you, I was going to make an absolutely different post. As you might have noticed, the blog works as a sort of transcript for my YouTube videos. I finally found the courage to actually sit down in front of the camera and talk to you, despite being quite self-conscious about my foreign accent, and write a transcript later for the blog. And guess what. My camera, for some reason unknown to me, was not recording the audio for the video, even though it used to. I tried to record multiple different videos to see why it does that but it just doesn’t work. Thank god, I found out just after filming a short rehearsal clip. Let me tell you, I would be f**king upset if I thought I was filming the video and later found out that I didn’t.

Anyway, let’s wrap this rant up. Instead of the original blog post, which will hopefully be here next week, I decided to do a lookbook and share with you my favourite outfits I’ve been wearing this month. I hope you enjoy it. Let’s get into it!

Outfit no. I

This look features a simple white T-shirt from Primark and on top of it, I’m wearing a suedette camel toned beige dress also from Primark. Honestly, I never thought I would like this type of dress, but when I saw them in the shop the other day, I told myself ‘why not?’. Now I’m glad I bought them.

IMG_E4789

I styled this outfit with my new beige ankle boots from Forever 21, which I’ve been looking for such a long time, but I couldn’t find the perfect pair. Well, now you have it. This look is quite modest with accessories as I chose only a simple black choker from Primark with a golden diamond shaped embellishment on it.

IMG_E4790

Outfit no. II

This outfit is significantly bolder than the previous one and I love it! The burgundy T-shirt is from Primark. The black skirt, however, is from Tally Weijl.

IMG_E4788

Those black faux leather vintage style shoes are from Primark. Unfortunately, I have no idea where those black knee-high socks are from. However, I bet my head you can find them in Primark as well. The black hat is from Forever 21. I wanted a hat like this for the longest time but I couldn’t find it anywhere. Like the boots from the previous outfit. Unfortunately, Primark didn’t have hats like this but Forever 21 didn’t disappoint me. Forever 21 never does. The necklaces, which you could have already seen here on my blog, are from Primark.

IMG_E4791

Outfit no. III

This look was my absolute obsession when I was in the Czech Republic earlier this month. When we arrived from Croatia, my luggage stayed at my dad’s for a day while I was at my mum’s, and so I didn’t have anything to wear. Well, I made an inspection to my mum’s wardrobe and found these black jeans from Pull&Bear there. They are at least two sizes too large for me but that’s probably why I love them so much. Long story short, now they are mine. The white shirt, which I’ve had in my wardrobe for what feels like forever is from Primark and there I bought the black faux fur waistcoat as well. Can we appreciate the waistcoat for a moment? It’s sooooo soft! I’ve been completely obsessed with faux fur and burgundy clothes lately.

IMG_E4787

The black ankle boots from Forever 21 have been featured in a couple of my previous lookbooks, but never mind. I love them. Another item already used in my lookbooks are the golden necklaces from Primark.

IMG_E4792

Outfit no. IV

And last but not least comes this simple slightly warmer outfit which is perfect for the chilly September weather but when you don’t necessarily feel like wearing something too warm because it’s usually not so chilly in the afternoon as it is in the morning. The plum-ish/dark purple jumper is from Primark and I paired it with those comfortable black trousers from New Yorker.

IMG_E4786

The black boots, which make my legs look super long, by the way, are from Deichmann. The choker is from Primark.

IMG_E4793
So, that’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed this lookbook and don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel as well!

Travel Diary: Prague 2017

Hello everyone,

After my trip to Dubrovnik, I went to the Czech Republic for a couple of days. You know, to see my family once in a while, get everything that needed to be sorted done and all that kind of stuff. It occurred to me that it would be nice to have a stroll through the streets of Prague (which I’ve never really done, to be honest) and write a blog post about it. In fact, I didn’t want to call this a ‘travel diary’ since it’s really not a travel diary. It’s more of an explore diary. However, I want all of my travel diaries, this one included, to fit in one category and to not complicate anything in the process I will stick to ‘travel diary’.

IMG_4696
I picked a random day of my stay and the weather was just perfect for the occasion. The sun was shining bright and only several clouds were rushing through the sky. My first stop was the Old Town square. More specifically the astronomical clock. I was lucky. I arrived about five minutes to 1 PM which meant I was going to see the apostles displaying themselves in the windows of the clock tower.

IMG_4692
Then I walked across the square, toward Pařížská street, passing by the Old New Synagogue to Letná. I wanted to get a nice shot of the city skyline, but unfortunately, it was already quite crowded, so I climbed down all the stairs and headed to the Prague castle. I left the busy streets and its iconic trams and wound up at the entrance gate. However, the best part of that location was an open view Starbucks café where you could sip your favourite coffee while savouring the spectacular view over the historical city and Petřín hill.

IMG_4699
When I had enough of the beautiful vista (or had I?), I walked down the stairs again, wandering through the Lesser Quarter to the Charles Bridge. I walked this bridge about only five times in my entire life but I would love to do it again. The atmosphere was indescribable. Artists selling their paintings and drawings, the sound of harmonica spread all over the bridge and the scent of roasted almonds made me crave them. Though I’m pretty sure they weren’t even made there, but my brain tried to trick me because it was my favourite food the buy there when me and my family went to our annual Christmas Prague trip.

IMG_4701
Then I continued to the quaint streets of the Old Town. And I got lost. Although, to be honest. I didn’t mind at all. And then I ended my trip at the Wenceslas Square where St. Wenceslas in onlooking the city from his horse. I buried myself in one the uncomfortable seats in the train on my way back rewarding myself with some Studentská pečeť chocolate, the best Czech chocolate. Even though, my friends would try to convince me otherwise.

IMG_4700
You see, I used to hate Prague, and anything Czech really. But for some reason, I’ve grown fond of it even though I’m certainly not planning to move back to my country anytime soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post and don’t forget to check my YouTube channel as well! See you next time!

Lookbook Vacation 2017

Hello everyone,

Today I would like to share with you another lookbook. Lookbooks are my most read blog posts and the most watched videos on my YouTube channel, and they are my favourite to create as well. Quite frankly, I was contemplating not posting this particular lookbook at all. You see, it’s already September and this is a summer lookbook. A vacation one, to be exact. It’ already the autumn time but this year I just can’t part with summer and unfortunately I had a late vacation this year and I just fell in love with all of those looks so I decided to post this anyway. I was looking forward all summer to wear these outfits because the English weather was not doing me favour. So, let’s jump straight into it!

Outfit no. I

For the first outfit, I chose a simple white shirt from Primark with the brown vintage style skirt from Forever 21 which you could have already seen in one of my previous lookbooks. The white lacey choker is from Primark as all of my necklaces and chokers.

21362885_1547317625289697_1007958650_n

All of the looks feature these brown high heel sandals from Forever 21 because when we go on a vacay, we need to economise with the stuff we pack into our luggage, right?

21442077_1547317618623031_2084832523_n

Outfit no. II

This one is my definite favourite of this lookbook. I was promenading in this outfit through the streets of Dubrovnik and I received quite a few stunned looks from the fellow passing by tourists. Anyway, the white lacey top is from Forever 21, as well as the maxi skirt, which you could have, once again, already seen in my previous lookbook.

21397395_1547317581956368_1529229535_n

The flower crown, the absolute best part of this entire look as well as my favourite part is from Forever 21, too. Yep, you guessed it right. It’s my go-to place to shop for clothes. I wish I could wear the flower crown more often, you see, I feel like it’s expressing my true nature but I think it’s too much even for London. Besides, as I said, it’s already autumn, and therefore I would look like a freak wearing a summer flower crown in autumn.

21442062_1547317558623037_1268434037_n

Outfit no. III

This outfit was my go-to look when on the beach. The tunic is from Lindex. You expected Forever 21, didn’t you? Nope, no Forever 21 in this look. Well, if you don’t count the sandals. Okay. It was kind of pointless. Anyway, the bikini is from New Yorker, and the necklace is from Primark. I bought the sunglasses at a street market in Dubrovnik because I forgot my trustworthy Ray-Bans and these just caught my eye.

20814201_1547317611956365_1058467866_n

Outfit no. IV

And the last outfit features my greatest obsession of this summer, maxi dress. Well, if I don’t count the flower crown. I guess we all can agree that I’ve been pretty obsessed with fashion this summer. The dress is from Forever 21 and the headband is from Claire’s.

21397187_1547317595289700_95312295_n
By the way, all the necklaces and rings are my Pandora ones, which I wear in every single lookbook. Yep, I need to pay more attention to these pieces too, and use different jewellery from time to time.

21396920_1547317588623034_1544177717_n
That will be everything for today’s post. Don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel, as well!

See you next time!

Travel Diary: Dubrovnik 2017

Hello everyone,

Today I’m going to share with you my recent trip to Dubrovnik, Croatia aka King’s Landing. I found out several months ago, that my favourite TV show has been filmed in this city which I visited at least five times already, and perhaps it was the reason why I was more thrilled about this trip more than ever.

IMG_4580

The street Boshkoviceva where you can sit on the Iron Throne

Dubrovnik is one of my favourite cities to visit. In fact, it’s my fourth favourite city. I’ve got five, to be exact. Anyway, I’m quite confident to say that it’s a sort of a Czech tradition at this point to make a road trip to Croatia as a form of summer holidays. Although it’s pretty tiresome to spend whole twenty-four hours in a car, I’ve come to a state where I realised that I actually love it. It’s uncomfortable but you get to see things you wouldn’t actually see from the plane. Well, in fact, I flew from London to Dubrovnik and then drove to the Czech Republic with my family, where I am at this moment.

IMG_4491

View on the old part of Dubrovnik from the walls

I arrived in the Čilipi Airport, completely sleepy after a night spent in the Stansted Airport, because there were no convenient means of connection to get here at the time I needed, so I had to arrive there the night before. Surprisingly, I wasn’t as sluggish as I supposed I would be after the sleepless night, maybe due to the refreshing water of the Adriatic Sea which I jumped into as soon as I could.

IMG_4490

The House of Undying aka part of the walls

The best day, however, was the third day of my holidays. It was the day when we finally bought our boat tickets and sailed to Dubrovnik from Cavtat. I’m sorry I don’t know all the names of the locations in these pictures.

That’s everything for today’s post. Hope you enjoyed it and don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel.

Lookbook August 2017

Hello everyone,

Today, I would like to share with you my recent go-to outfits. So, without any further ado, let’s get into it. Just before I start, I’m sorry that this post is rather short, but I’m currently in the process of packing for my trip to Dubrovnik and I had a bit of spare time to write this blog post.

Outfit no. I:

FullSizeRender1

This simple outfit consists of a white T-shirt from Primark and a floral skirt from H&M.

IMG_4416

The necklaces are from Primark.

Outfit no. II:

FullSizeRender4

This one is not your typical summer outfit but I think it’s great for the British summer. The black T-shirt is from H&M and the super comfy trousers are from New Yorker. The faux fur waistcoat is from Pull&Bear.

IMG_4419

The necklace is from Primark.

Outfit no. III:

FullSizeRender3

This one is my absolute favourite, although this summer hasn’t been nice to me enough so I can’t wear it as often as I would love to. Anyway, the white tank top is from Primark and the maxi skirt is from Forever 21.

FullSizeRender

To my disappointment, the flower headband from Forever 21, the best part of this outfit, can’t really be seen in the video (check out here), so here’s a better picture of this beauty.

IMG_4418

The choker is from Primark.

Outfit no. IV:

The last outfit consists of this burgundy crop top from New Look and high-waisted jeans from Tally Weijl.

IMG_4417

The necklaces are from Primark.

Both of the bracelets and all of the rings, which you can spot in all of the outfits are from Pandora.

Once again, I’m sorry that this post is kind of short and straightforward. See you again soon!
