June 2018 Favourites

Hello everyone!

It’s the end of June, and I’m wondering how is it even possible?! I’d swear it’s still the beginning. However, it means that it’s time for monthly favourites. So let’s get right into it because I have a lot of favourites for you this month.

Forever 21 Floral Dress

I was looking for a simple floral mini dress from May. I couldn’t find anything, and if I did, it didn’t meet my expectations. Fortunately, Forever 21 saved me (like they always do). I’ve been wearing this dress every single day since I bought it. Literally. Especially since it’s been pretty scorching in London for the past few days. You can check out the dress here.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse

I have absolutely ridiculous tan lines from the clothes I wear. Some parts of my body look like I just came back from tropical holidays, and the rest of my body looks like it has never seen the sunlight. To balance this out a little bit, I was looking for an inexpensive self-tan which wouldn’t wash off the minute I step to shower. Although this one says it lasts up to 7 days, it doesn’t. I apply it twice a week instead of just once. But it looks really natural, doesn’t stain my clothes, and doesn’t streak.

Herbal Essences Golden Raspberry & Mint Shampoo

Oh my god you guys! This shampoo smells like a kids’ chewing gum. I mean, these chewing gums for children that also contain mint. It feels so refreshing on the scalp and leaves my hair feeling super light. It says it can be used on a daily basis, but I haven’t tried that as I try not to wash my hair that often.

Ebou Njie Moringa Tea

As you might already know, I’m a huge tea drinker. And green tea is my absolute favourite. All kinds of it. So I was excited when I was sent this tea from Ebou Njie. This is not some dodgy detox tea which will magically make you lose ten pounds in ten days. Among other things, it’s rich in vitamin A, Potassium, Iron and Calcium, and is also caffeine free. Which is great for me because my body doesn’t handle caffeine very well. Two cups of regular green tea a day is just enough for me. Definitely check out the company’s Instagram account here or buy the tea here!

Love Your BODcast

Love Your BODcast is a podcast by Julie Stubblefield, the founder of Fit Mom Revolution. It’s podcast dedicated to self-love, as the name suggests. And yes, it’s aimed audience are mostly mothers but it’s absolutely excellent. She goes through diet, exercise, and self-love tips in her episodes, and also interviews other people and shares their stories about how they have come to love their bodies. I listen to this podcast when I’m exercising to distract myself from the fact that I’m actually working out.

Rachel Oates’ YouTube Channel

Rachel Oates is a young woman based in London, and on her YouTube channel, she reacts to books, articles, and videos about Christian beliefs, child abuse, and feminism among a lot of other things. My favourite video of hers so far is a reaction to a video called “Why Young Women NEED to Stay at Home Until Marriage” or something along those lines.

Music

  • Alice – Girls x Boys
  • Calvin Harris feat. Dua Lipa – One Kiss
  • Cash Cash feat. Abir – Fines Hour
  • Clean Bandit feat. Demi Lovato – Solo
  • JP Cooper – September Song (Indian Summer Mix)
  • Lost Kings feat. Sabrina Carpenter – First Love
  • Loud Luxury feat. Brando – Body
  • Mabel feat. Kojo Funds – Finders Keepers
  • Nevada – The Mack
  • Nicki Minaj feat. Ariana Grande – Bed
  • Sabrina Carpenter feat. Jonas Blue – Alien

And these are all of my favourites I have for June 2O18. Hope you enjoyed!

See you soon!

xoxo, S. V.
