Today I wanted to share with you my opinion on the current trends. The initial idea was to write a “Summer 2018 Trends I Like and Dislike” kind of thing. I did the same post last summer, and I decided I want to do this sort of posts every season. However, I’m struggling with the dislike part. I like the vast majority of the current trends so instead, I picked the ones I find the best. Without any further ado, let’s jump into it!
I know. You haven’t seen me wearing any check prints. Yet. But it doesn’t mean I don’t like them. Some OOTDs featuring check printed items are coming soon. The “Clueless” vibes have been around since spring, and I’m pretty sure they will last until autumn.
You know how much I love unique clothing and accessories. Especially when they are embellished with embroidery, crystals or feathers. I hope this trend will last as long as possible. Well, not that I really care. I will wear feathers no matter if it’s in trend or not.
At this point, you already know that I live for florals. “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” Except, this year florals have made it into summer as well. My inner flower child is screaming at the abundance of pretty floral dresses in the shops.
For me, it’s especially the blazer part I’m thrilled about the most. Especially checked blazers. Blazers are actually very versatile. You can wear them as part of a suit, or throw them over an edgy outfit and add a bit of class your look. Like I said about the check trend, I have this feeling that blazers and suits will still be around when autumn comes. Which is great, because they are perfect for the autumn weather. Unfortunately, that’s not the case at the moment. I can’t imagine going out in the heatwave in a suit.
They are such a great accessory to any outfit, especially if you have a waist worth emphasising. Wide and thin, doesn’t matter. They all look absolutely amazing.
There are just a few summer 2018 trends I’m not really living for at the moment, such as polka dots or crayola colours. But I know myself very well at this point and my taste in fashion and style changes pretty often.
And that’s everything for this post. Hope you enjoyed.
See you soon!
xoxo, S. V.
